Monday

Doing quite a lot of Cabinet stuff at the moment, so here's more randomness to tide yous over.

There must be someone I know who has kids into lego, and then I could buy them this. I'm not going to buy if for myself - one has a draw a line somewhere*.

Although if I were going any further with the Viking Heist Movie, I would almost certainly be able to buy all that stuff, and claim it as '3D storyboarding'. Or something.

Interview with Bob Stein about interactive media whilst in Halo 2. So they're being shot and, and occasionally shooting back. One day all chat shows will be like this. And I'll start watching telly again. Currently I'm only watching Scrubs and Lost, the DVD set of which I'll soon be purchasing SO I DON'T HAVE TO SIT THROUGH ALL THE GODDAMN ADVERTS EVERY TWENTY SECONDS.

Grr.

*Anyway, Argos doesn't have the ones I want.

Wow, Lego just gets better and better. I see no reason why you shouldn't buy it for yourself, James. I've got a whole load of *cough* Harry Potter Lego knocking about that I purchased for myself...as an adult...

It's just the sort of weather for staying in and playing with Lego too. Fortified by copious amounts of tea and chocolate biscuits. Preferably Plain Choco Leibniz ones.

it's definitely a tea-and-chocolate-biscuits sort of a day. not lego tho - i just can't get the hang of it. as a child my parents were constantly feigning admiration as i proudly displayed yet another big green flat bit with some yellow bits stuck randomly to it. i'm not bitter tho. *stifles sob with fist*

Unrelated to the topic, but this is fantastic http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4152338.stm#cabbaging

Reminded me very much of guyball actually. But with computers. We should start a championship James! Oooh, you have to do a post on it now!!!

My kid likes Lego. Y'know ... I'm just sayin' ...

That interview thing really is quite weird!!

How about I buy the lego, then send it to your kid when I'm bored with it. Say... 2012?

It's odd, isn't it? But that's the kind of interview I like. I'd like to see Jonathon Ross do his next interview from inside World of Warcraft, chatting to Judy Dench about her next film while they fight off wave after wave of rampaging murlocs.

(they're a kind of gibbering fish monster - I'm quite fond of them)

Mr P's nephew (aged 8) gets Lego for every conceiveable occasion. I can't decide whether it's the process of buying or the three-monthly playing opportunities that he likes best (suspect the latter). Happily the nephew seems to like Star Wars Lego every bit as much as he does.

Ooh, and Scrubs was aces this week.

Our son has all the Harry Potter and Star Wars sets. Not to mention other fantastic Lego mises-en-scene; pyramids and mummies, racing circuits, Native American teepees etc. Unfortunately he insists on being 'creative' with it all; uses bits of Hogwarts to build Jabba's palace, and lets Snape fight with a light sabre. I can't bear to watch as, if it were up to me, I'd keep every set strictly apart in a sort of apartheid regime. What an unpleasant neurotic I am sometimes.

You're all welcome to come and play anytime you like.

Crossover genius. Can't wait until he starts making films...

And yes, Scrubs was extremely good. Carried it off perfectly, too.

Re: adverts - just keep thinking, "ar least I'm not watching it in America where they have about six ad breaks per half hour."

Really, really, really want to play with Lego now. And I reckon that Viking longboat would float in the bath, too.

Having worked for LEGO I can assure you that you wouldn't be the odd one out if you bought the Vikingship for yourself. LEGO has quite an adult fan club. We have the LEGO statue of Liberty in our livingroom... Hmm

Handy Lego tip: never allow your cat to confuse your big box of Lego with its litter tray.

I hope he didn't poo on a three-er. I seem to remember those being worth their weight in gold.

Which admittedly, wouldn't be very much.
